About the Artwork

A living map of Philippine biodiversity, this hand-illustrated design showcases iconic native trees such as malabayabas, bagras, pagatpat, bakhaw, agoho, and talisay — all vital to local ecosystems. Hidden within the vibrant artwork are reminders of what’s at stake: the tamaraw, pangolin, Philippine tarsier, Philippine eagle, kagwang (flying lemur), bleeding-heart pigeon, and kalaw (Philippine hornbill). You can also see the humble tambasakan (mudskipper) in the artwork if you are into details as well. A bold signboard embedded in the design calls on all of us to “Protect our Biodiversity.”
